Don't waste your money. It says that it is a bonus chapter of about 15 pages. It is more like a small excerpt from a chaper with no storyline and the page length on my DX was only 5 pages, the rest of the pages were from the book "Asylum Lake"
If you have read Asylum Lake by the same author, this installment will throw you further down the rabbit hole to find more details about Bedlam Falls and crazy little Lionel. I won't ruin any of those morsels for you; but, I will say it's all coming together nicely and I think a lightbulb went off over my head when I was finished. Rich has a way of being descriptive without being full of himself and his writing. I LOVE the way he paints a picture (mostly with well-placed blood) and I can see the whole scene play out in my head. Nice tease for those of us who are chomping at the bit for his next release - Grave Undertakings. Well played Rich!
This book was not what I was expecting. I was expect a continuation of Asylum Lake but it was not.
Perhaps I didn't read the fine print, but this story is just a few pages of the Bedlam Falls story and tells you nothing. I feel like I paid for filler and am highly irritated by the ruse.
I look forward to finding more Books with this type of story; thrilling, paranormal,
and MOST Important, very Interesting for the next Book I read "Asylum Lake", which is the 5 STAR REVIEW!
I have Asylum Lake and Grave Undertakings, but I haven't yet read them, so I don't know how Trick or Treat relates to them. The problem is, this isn't a full story. It's more like an excerpt or preview; it can't stand on it's own as a narrative. I stars I give it are for the chapter from Asylum Lake that follows.
I was so disappointed in the amount that was there to read. 5 pages at most, then it goes into a chapter from a book I already read. Don't get me wrong the very small amount was good, but not if you have to pay for it. I can not wait for the next book but this "short story" is not worth the money spent!
